The star homies have dropped 🙌🏾

Jon Allanson

I really enjoyed the characters of the coven and am sad they are all gone. I did not get the vibe from this episode that they are evil. I also don't think we got the whole story about what happened during the fire. The jedi seemed to be already there. I think possibly there may have been more of a confrontation between the mothers and the jedi while Osha was escaping her room. This episode certainly didn't make the jedi look great. I think we will get more flashbacks from different perspectives maybe as the series continues. I'm definitely enjoying the show. The sets, costumes, props, visuals, etc. are top notch. The writing and acting are definitely working for me. As always, thanks much for sharing your reactions with us.

If you notice, at the end when everyone is on the ship, Torbin has a fresh scare on his face. There were also scenes in the trailer of the Jedi fighting that wasn’t shown. So we obviously didn’t get the full story and the Jedi are more involved somehow. I can’t wait to see that side of the story.

"Mother Aniseya? No, thats Storm from X-men 😮 " my only thought watching this ep

Hector kept saying about the light and dark side of the Force when talking about the witches, but that concept seems to be a mainly Jedi interpretation of the Force. We know now that the Force is more than just a dark and light side and it seems the witches see it as all one thing, The Thread. Not light nor dark, not good nor bad and that's why they seem to scoff at the Jedi. It feels like different religious sects disagreeing on the dogma and not trusting the other because of it. After watching this a second time, I think that Mae didn't literally mean that she was going to kill Osha, I think she meant figuratively. Like she started the fire so that she could say Osha died in it and then the Jedi would go away. This episode was great, but I didn't realize it was mostly only from Osha's point of view until Mae came into her room and said she was going to stop her from leaving. So, I fully expect for us to see an ep showing Mae's point of view of the whole thing. I'm not sure anyone was particularly nefarious there, but disagreeing points of view and high tension. Basically, it was a balancing act and Mother Aniseya didn't want violence 'cause they'd have to go on the run and there's already very few left of them, it seems. These are witches, but like you said, they may be different than the witches of Dathomir or they come from the same belief, but are different than the Night Sisters? Another sect? Mother Koril seemed the most militant one so she's prime suspect to have started something that got outta hand, but it's possible that it may have been something else since there was some sort of sound or feeling that Mother Koril felt and she went into that big room with the, I don't know what it was, big power supply? Engine? Furnace? I don't know. Perhaps something was wrong there and set the place ablaze and everyone blames everyone else. The Master of Mae could've just sensed her rage and found her, looking for an apprentice? We'll see.

I feel this episode was in Osha's point of view and we will see the other points of view throughout the rest of the season. I feel the way Mae was acting was as if a Sith had been influencing her and perhaps she had been manipulated. It was just a feeling watching her gaze into that fire lamp. I also think since the girls were made, perhaps it was 1 child that was manipulated into 2 children. I am very curious as to what this coven has been accused of that sent them in to exile and is there a stipulation to this exile where they are not allowed to train children. The jedi didn't say anything about training adults, but children of their beliefs...Just food for thought. I am excited to watch the rest of this unfold to see the other 2 sides of the story.

Well here are my few cents on the twins: I think they are some kind of a vergence and/or convergence: The mother has insisted that the two children love each other and has placed their hands in each other to emphasize, strengthen and preserve the bond between them. Both are the two poles of the Force. Together they are in harmony and there is a fragile balance. When they drifted apart, this balance broke down, resulting in both of them leaning towards the extremes of the two poles, so Mae was drawn to the evil side of the Force. A parable about balance like yin and yang. While the term "Convergence" has not been directly used to describe Anakin Skywalker himself in the official Star Wars canon, there are a few interesting connections and interpretations: The Chosen One: Anakin is often referred to as the "Chosen One," prophesied to bring balance to the Force. This concept could be seen as a type of "convergence," where the light and dark sides of the Force intersect and collide within him. Vergence in the Force: In Star Wars lore, a "vergence" refers to a point where the Force is unusually strong. Qui-Gon Jinn, who discovered Anakin, believed him to be a vergence in the Force, suggesting a convergence of Force energy within him. Symbolic Convergence: Anakin's existence bridges different eras and factions in the Star Wars universe. He is born during the waning years of the Republic, becomes a Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars, and ultimately falls to the dark side, becoming Darth Vader and helping establish the Empire. His life story represents a convergence of various historical and ideological forces. High Republic Era Connection: While not directly related to Anakin, the term "Convergence" is prominently featured in the High Republic era, a time period explored in recent Star Wars stories. This era's themes of convergence could be seen as foreshadowing or echoing Anakin's later role as a pivotal figure in galactic history.

He said it, he said the thing! 😜 Yeah I agree, there's a lot of potentiality going forward from here. I wonder if we'll get another flashback that's more from Mae's POV later in the season to fill in a few of the gaps... Anyways, as always guys, thank you for these reactions. It's such a great enhancement of watching shows like this where we watch it, then rewatch right away with your reaction vid.

I think the acting of the children in this episode was very strong. Especially those moments when they didn't have lines. I particularly loved the performance of Mae's actor.

We only saw it from Osha's perspective though right? Mae might have started the fire, but that doesn't mean she's killed the Mother and the other witches... just a thought.
