Many comments online shift toward the MCU’s X-Men and how this has set the bar impossibly high. They’re stuck between their own show and what Fox tried to do. Everything about the X-Men from their costumes to powers is best suited for animation. Marvel Studios must boldly embrace them. No more hamstringing with “what would be real.” This is pure fantasy and parable. They need to run toward the insane. Example: The cartoon can use bold yellow lines for Magneto’s power. Live action has all been invisible because magnetism is invisible. None of that. Show us. Yet it has to be understandable by newcomers. That’s the tallest order, and it requires patience on everyone’s part. You know, how studios and audiences can be patient?
