I do not often cross promote between this project and The Last Standee; mostly because it is the place where I get to talk about/review games outside of the world of Boss Battlers and I am never sure how much people enjoy content outside of that remit. However, once I played Monster Hunter World: The Board Game I asked veteran Boss Battlers Alexis (Xelias) and Alessio (T3clis) to both play the game a little in order to check if my impressions were not just being tinted by my love of the video game franchise.

There is a section on Cry Havoc from Alessio at the start; then we get into MHW. Initially there was supposed to also be a section from Alexis covering Journeys in Middle Earth, but we ended up talking about MHW for so long that it got bumped.

It has some flaws, but it is a fresh take on the Cooperative Adventure Boss Battling board game genre and as it is hitting retail this summer; plus having a second Kickstarter for its sequel later this year and as such I wanted to make you all aware of this review/discussion.

If people want a fuller breakdown; let me know in the comments here and I'll write up a full review/critique of the game.

Enjoy!

I would be interested, also in where are the differences to KDM. what mechanics are similar or different and make the game better or worse.
