Annual August Holiday (Patreon)

As those of you who've been here long enough to see many lanterns fade will know, I take the first week of August off each year, in part to spend time with my family, but also to recharge, give my still wonky health a bit of a rest and enjoy my birthday. This year I am getting cabinets and a chest of drawers to hold board games and I couldn't be more excited because they combine my love of organising things, board games and building stuff into one neat package.

The plan for the next few posts is to continue diving into People of the Lantern, with a look at the campaign's themes, then the two big nemesis monsters - The Jellyfish and the Burning Angry Lion Man also known as The Watcher and The Gold Smoke Knight. This will end with a gradual release of visual guides, one for each of the two nemesis monsters and possibly one for the campaign as a whole.

Following that there will be another deep dive + visual guide, the options are as follows:

• Dragon King

• The Hand

• Lion Knight

• Green Armor

• Flower Knight

I also have to update the Screaming Antelope Visual guide in order to get it in line with 1.6. It's been a heck of a journey figuring out what to do with the armor set now it's a bit stranded. I also intend to get around to a Visual Guide/Deep Dive for both People of the Sun and People of the Stars/The Tyrant - The Tyrant in particular is very interesting with how layered and thematic its showdown is.

I'll check back Monday (8th of August) to see which one is ahead and that'll be the choice I start prepping for. Lots of grinding that particular monster down in campaigns and showdowns!

I would also like to heartily recommend Stars of Akarios for anyone who wants to play a cooperative space themed campaign game with tactical miniature combat and exploration. It's really rather good!
