It's that time, where I just pop out a short news piece in addition to the normal content.

Great Game Hunters Lion Knight 2 Episode popped out last week and will be live on apps this week. We haven't had a chance to record the Sunstalker stuff yet, I'm doing a load of work in preparation, but when we went to record Josh and Matt had a lot of technical problems and we had to delay. Hopefully we get it sorted in the next couple of weeks, but the summer is always a nightmare for their recording schedule because of all the conventions. We'll see!

Moving Studios

I'm moving Studios for the summer, this has meant I've spent a bunch of time concentrating on finishing the commissions I had started and getting the ones I'll be doing over the Summer lined up for work.  I won't be painting much Kingdom Death outside of Commissions and a couple of pieces I'm bringing with me because transporting it all is absolutely out of the question. This means sadly I'll have to do my KDM stuff on Tabletop Simulator (huge sad face), thank goodness Arbie's board isn't too full of awful scripting and looks nice! (As always Arbie's KDM Board is the only scripted one I recommend).

The studio is on an island, so it'll be an "idyllic" summer of painting, writing and tending to a zoo of pets (see below). This is a trial period for us to decide if moving there permanently is a good fit.

Streaming!

Because I'll have my own space instead of a shared one, I'm probably going to be recording some sessions of Kingdom Death, likely solo, but if SpinningDust is free (she's always very busy and in demand because of her wonderful voice) nijiq and I will record a People of the Stars run with her. This will probably be done via Twitch, but with relatively low viewer interaction.  Solo I'll be going against completely official* Spidicules, Sunstalker, Dragon King in Lantern (I'll be skipping the King's Man fights and just losing the population as long as I have it spare) with possibly the Manhunter if I feel like mixing things up. I'll decide just before he's due to turn up.

*I say official as in no house rules, but we're actually going to be house ruling in the hybrid armors anyway so, almost official

Patreon Posts

We've almost finished our armor series. Green Armor came out today and there's a 'capstone' piece that will give you a bookmark page of contents out on Friday.  That'll close out the Armor deep dive series until we get new things. The mixed sets are in the point where I'll be putting out the various mixed sets I feel are good. As an extra bonus, each one is going to include a homebrew 'hybrid armor' card (like the Lion Knight ones) which will let you have a new armor set using the mixed set build I've recommended.

Speaking of which, we almost reached 50 voters on the Armor Set poll over here. If you haven't voted, you should because we're at 49 right now and at 50 I'll implement the most popular "solution" as a variant release!

I will also now get on with deep diving into weapons, you will have noticed on the discord that I've been popping up graphs here and there. Well I've done a very extensive breakdown of all the weapons in the game and the break points, there's a piece coming about how important one often overlooked piece of gear is for improving a settlement's offense (oooh mysterious) and I've also finally nailed the definitive 'most powerful weapons in the game' - spoilers, Perfect Slayer is not in the top 3, yeah there's three other weapons that are more powerful than it.  Honestly there's some exciting stuff in there and exploring it has cemented my ability to calculate when a team is offensively ready to jump up to a higher level quarry monster.

We're just over 10 patreons short of hitting the rolling monthly goal of 575 patrons (any level!) I have a huge, hulking, survivor destroying beast of a monster that's the most powerful thing I've fought in Kingdom Death yet just waiting to turn up and wreck your survivors. If we can hit 575 by the end of the month I'll finish polishing it by turning it into a print & play expansion, until then it's going to keep slapping my playtesters into oblivion.

Instagram

If you've not seen it, over on my Instagram I'm working on Easter Aya and here she is at the moment.

There will be an article with lots of pictures on this skin during this month, I am shipping over the Valentine's Day Twilight Knight 54mm Pin-up to demonstrate with.  I can tell you in advance that you want to get your hands on Vallejo Model Colour Ice Yellow and the Nocturna Fairy Flesh series.

This is a more robust, bright and 'fantastical' skin colour than the usual palid purples I use for my personal KDM models. So it's great for pieces like this one.

Dauntless

The Free to Play monster hunting game Dauntless has dropped live and if someone wants to take responsibility for setting up a guild of patreons, please do so! I don't have time to manage it myself, but I will join and as I play Dauntless a few times a week already I'll be around to play with people. It's not quite playing Kingdom Death with me, but honestly it's as close as one will get (and it's a better experience, trust me, I'm a nightmare to board game with because of how much I troll).

Message me with the guild details and as long as it has a cool name that reflects the community, I'll join and we'll get it out there for people to get involved in!

Play Dauntless via the Epic Launcher. It can also be played on XBox and PS4 with cross platform functionality!

Fluff!

As those of you on the discord are aware, we recently adopted both a rescued dog and a Green Cheeked Conure who were in need of a home.  Here they are!

This is Pam, who is around a year and a half old. She was first found on Aruba abandoned and chained up to a rock, she had just had a litter of puppies, they were dumped in a small cave nearby where she couldn't reach them. This trauma has meant that she's turned out to be very reactive, fearful, prone to stress and on top of that the poor girl has hip dysplasia - it's cost a fortune in vet fees (and will cost more because eventually she'll need hip replacements), but she is incredibly smart for a dog - learns new tricks very quickly as long as there's food involved.

This is Minerva (Minnie).

She's a five year old Green Cheeked Conure. She's been shuttled from one place to the next, doesn't trust anyone at all and her feathers are not in the best condition because she's been barbering due to stress. We've had her checked out because her cage partner just dropped dead (according to her previous owner) but she's come back in the clear and with good health.

Here she is meeting the Cockatiels (who you will know from the podcast) for the first time yesterday:

They were not sure what to make of her. Hades hissed at her, Mercury made himself as big as possible to intimidate her, Percy wasn't bothered, but nothing scares Percy and Oden didn't bother coming to see her at all, Oden just wanted the big cage all to himself for an hour.

Hades (The Cinnamon White Face on the right) had a scare earlier this year when we discovered she was breaking her feathers a lot and hadn't grown in her wing feathers. She had to have blood tests for PBFD (Psittacine beak and feather disease) which was an awful week of waiting. Fortunately she has the all clear (and confirmation from a blood test that she's a girl, only way to be sure) and the vet pulled her old pins, she's now got a full set of feathers and is starting to get great at flying. She still flies into windows though and she always will.

Needless to say these pets have cost a lot in vet bills recently. It's been a tight few months.

Plugs:

This month I'd like to plug the KDM Story app, I've been enlisted in working on the photoshop work for enhanced versions of my small reference cards and they're looking fantastic in this superb piece of work. I am biased because my stuff is involved in it, but even without that I think this is one of the best KDM support apps out there already and it just keeps getting better over time.

Check it out at:  https://kdm-story.site/

You can chat with the creator over at this board game geek thread here.

I would also once again like to encourage you to watch both TWIST Gaming and Forged By Geeks when they run their KDM. You can catch them live or via their archives (which is how I watch because of timezones).

TWIST are on Tuesdays at their channel here:  https://www.twitch.tv/twistgaming go there and tell them to get on with recording all of the Sunstalker and Dragon King episodes with me ASAP.

Forged By Geeks are on  https://www.twitch.tv/forgedbygeeks  and I believe they're going to be starting a new run soon. Youtube is here.
