I have, so far, painted a total of three Sunstalkers. And I think it's interesting to see the development of my painting over that time.  In addition it's a good example of the three different (approximate) standards I paint to these days.

1. TWIST's Sunstalker

I've always been fond of the raw appearance that the mouth has on this one. It looks infected. However the 'official' colour scheme is not one that I think is very striking or interesting to me, which is why I moved away from it for my later Sunstalkers.

2. My Old Sunstalker

Now in the hands of one of my Patreons.  This Sunstalker was inspired by a Parsnip. In contrast to the previous one, there is more variation in the tones and additional detailing/freehand.

3. My Own Sunstalker

(More pictures at my Instagram, including WIPs)

This one was painted over a period of 2-3 weeks and involves a huge amount of freehand in creating the scales/wrinkling.  This time I decided to use the Sunstalker's rainbow nature as the basis for my inspiration.  But I wanted to have a more subtle take on it, so there is little red/orange/yellow in the model and the blues are more blue/green.  This has resulted in a more unified look to the piece.
