Armor: Head: 5, Body: 7, Arms/Legs/Waist: 6

Bonuses: Sword Mastery/Specialisation, Immune to Bash, Block 1, +2 Evasion, +2 Survival when Departing, +1 Survival when Encouraged

Attack Profile: (3/4+/4)

Expansions Required: This build requires the Manhunter expansion and the Before the Wall white box promo.  You do not require the After the Wall white box.

Costs: 5 Leather, 3 Hide, 4 Bone, 2 Organs, Cloth, 1 Scrap.

Other Notes: Requires Romantic Conviction, you need to crit farm the hat from the Manhunter. Better swords can be used.

The Manhunter's Hat was intended to have Outfit, this was mentioned by Poots in an interview and this build takes that ruling as valid.

This is one of the few multi-armor set gear grids possible in the game. The main other one is the 9 slot Rolling + Gorment armor set and that is only of use to a survivor who fights Fist and Tooth with acid palms (and that's a stretch).

This armor set is essentially an upgraded, sword based, leather set that uses the Tabard to gain the benefits of the Vagabond set and the Manhunter's Hat as the headpiece for the Leather Set.  It works because the Vagabond set allows accessory headpieces and the Manhunter's Hat has Outfit, so it is an accessory headpiece that can be used instead of the Leather Mask.

The Sword can be exchanged for any other sword, such as the Black Sword (Gorm), Ink Sword (Sunstalker) or an Oxidised Lantern Sword (People of the Lantern, Post Watcher) and it will just get more offensively powerful. If you swap the shield for a Beacon Shield, then you probably will want to drop using Monster Grease and get some other utility item into that slot instead of having just +1 Evasion.

This armor set lands in the mid game tank and late game bruiser category. With the addition of a Beacon Shield it's seriously tanky and it even works well in pairs because of how good the Tabard is if you are encouraged by another survivor with a Tabard. They can basically Encourage each other up indefinitely.   (If you can encourage yourself, this gets even better!)

This is also a neat thing to do with your leather tank set when it becomes obsolete and it's one of my favourite Vagabond builds.

Hey Fen, i managed to land a Gloom Man yesterday whom I intend to keep insane by using the Husk from the Dragon King. Any recommendations on a build? Since he cannot be targeted I was thinking pure glass cannon. Maybe death mask?

FenPaints

As you have acid palms on him already you could either go with offensive fist and tooth or support + fist and tooth training. Personally I'd go with a weaponless rawhide support build. Take advantage of how Rawhide provides a little protection (does help vs hunt events/stuff that hits everyone without targeting), deepens the reserves of survival you have and also gives you the power of the headband. You could glass cannon, but you're never going to have another character like this in this timeline, so he should be protected. So I'd be bandages, rawhide, Circlet and whatever other support items I can get my hands on. He can F&T as required. If you go offensive with the death mask, I'd still build full rawhide on him for the survival to spend with surges and hunt protection. I just would not connect the affinities. I'd also have him carry a Rawhide Whip for hunt event protection plus other utility items.

You could replace the Cuirass with the Hard Breastplate right? To have severe injury protection? I suppose then you have to deal with stuff that targets heavy gear and be locked into using a Scrap Sword?

FenPaints

Yeah you can, but if I can avoid falling down the Cracks of Doom and losing heavy gear, I usually will take that route.
