Grayroot Saviors - Level 3 Shadowdark Adventure (Patreon)

Denizen of the Tower! In Grayroot Saviors, a level-3 Shadowdark adventure, the characters are hired to track down a mysterious mage that hides in Grayroot Forest. With their foul magic, the mage slowly siphons the life force of the region and threatens to kill all plants and animals nearby. Time is essential for this quest.

The characters traverse the forest and make strong alliances with the fey creatures that have dared to stay behind while their brethren migrate in fear of the blight. One of them, a dryad, points the characters to a hidden vault that contains a legendary weapon. This weapon is crucial to defeating the foul wizard in the ruins.

This Shadowdark adventure has the heroes traverse a dangerous forest, make friends with awakened animals and neutral fey, and pits them against one of the most nefarious mages of this time. One that might become a recurring enemy.

This adventure re-visits two locations already mapped but also adds map 665, The Core of Despair. A dungeon with an ancient, arcane vessel. It also features art by John Latta and Kim Holm.

This adventure has been designed for Shadowdark RPG through their 3rd party license. The system is meant to be accessible to OSR players and modern players alike. Adapting the material to 5e or other systems should not be difficult.
