663 Exorcism at the Mill (Patreon)

In Exorcism at the Mill, the characters hear of strange happenings that occur at the nearby mill. They hear that Vance, the miller, has not been seen for a few days and that the ground grain shipments have stopped. Some people also mention that Vance has apprenticed with the crown's wizard for a few years, though all they have seen come from it are a few impressive parlor tricks.

When the characters arrive, they soon find that things have gone amiss in the mill. Vance apparently attempted some form of advanced evil magic that turn against him and his family. While exploring the premises, the characters shall soon find the terrible fate of Vance's family and the aftermath of his perilous incantation.

This mid-level Shadowdark adventure brings the heroes to a desolate mill, confronts them with strange abominations from hell, and gives them the opportunity to earn renown with a representative of the local church.

This adventure has been designed for Shadowdark RPG through their 3rd party license. The system is meant to be accessible to OSR players and modern players alike. Adapting the material to 5e or other systems should not be difficult.
