657 Chasm of Fireflies - Introductory Shadowdark Adventures (Patreon)

In Chasm of Fireflies, a level-1 Shadowdark introductory adventure, the characters hear of a strange underground compound where a lightbug-lit chasm is a place for local pilgrimages and offerings. However, four dauntless farmers went into the dungeon looking for easy reaches.

When the characters arrive, they quickly find out the fate of the four farmers. They should not have come to such a dangerous place. The two-story compound features valuable information, a tribe of goblins that frequent the area, and the lower, half-submerged level contains a magical apparatus that may be used to cross the veil of worlds and reach the Woodlands Realm, the place of magical faeries.

This introductory Shadowdark adventure has the heroes explore a dangerous dungeon, rescue a group of foolhardy farmers, and encounter a magical device, the fabled gateway between worlds.

This adventure has been designed for Shadowdark RPG through their 3rd party license. The system is meant to be accessible to OSR players and modern players alike. Adapting the material to 5e or other systems should not be difficult.
