Last poll showed how many people are expecting cities and towns. This is the first one. It's a small city next to a lake.

The attached PDF contains three versions, some without name or tags. These versions are for people who want to use it on their own homebrew campaigns and with any name you like.

Hope you enjoy it and let me know if this type of city-town illustrations are cool by you.

I typically prefer "dungeon" maps but thanks for making this city. What do you use to make your maps? I've tried Photoshop, Paint.NET, and GIMP on a PC, and have recently tried procreate on my iPad. Do you draw each building individually or do you have an easier way of doing it? I was also wondering how you create the subtle shadowing in your objects.

I draw by hand in my notebook. If you follow elven tower on twitter you'll se lots of hand drawn sketches. After that I edit in Gimp. For shadowing and light effects I use layers in gimp. Usually one for shadows with a splat brush and for lights and shadings I use the "dodge" and "burn" effects, right on the color layers. I can do it because the colors for stuff are in different layers each.
