643 Church of Lost Desires (Patreon)

In Church of Lost Desires, a group of adventurers learns of a strange, underground place of worship where a cabal of snakefolk priests pray and then to a grandiose altar of an infinite serpent. The ouroboros is a deity for them. In their belief system, people from their kind can come to the serpent's effigy and petition it to show them a glimpse of the future. Traditionally, non-snakefolk individuals are not allowed in the church, much less invited to consult the sacred oracle.

When the characters arrive at the underground chapel, they are not welcome. The snakefolk guards repudiate their presence and demand they return to the sun-scorched surface. If the characters prove themselves in deadly combat, the high-priest might be inclined to believe that their appearance is welcome by the mighty ouroboros. That may be true, or just a way to cope with their upcoming defeat.

This is an adventure that brings the heroes to an underground, snakefolk chapel, confronts them with the best warriors from that obscure culture, and allows them to gain a glimpse into the future that may aid them in the adventures to come!
