627 The Wicked Anthill (Patreon)

In The Wicked Anthill, a group of low-level adventurers is hired to put a stop to a new colony of razorback ants that settled a few kilometers from Darraghan City. The ants are not evil creatures but they consume all resources around the anthill. Their reach threatens nearby farms, plantations, and grain silos. If the ants are not stopped, the threat of starvation in the coming winter shall cause an uproar.

When the characters reach the anthill, they must confront several breeds of ants that live there. Within, the young anthill is still not large enough that it cannot be completely explored, but it shall soon double or triple in size. Contrary to their first impression, they'll soon find out that the young ant-queen is sentient and willing to negotiate with the human populations nearby, which she wrongly thinks are colonies of sorts too.

This is an adventure that takes the heroes to a young ant colony, confronts them with several dangerous breeds of razorback ants, and puts them in a difficult position when negotiating with the ant queen!
