Traveler! In this adventure, In the Hall of the Mountain King, a group of level-7 adventurers comes across a small settlement near the Great Desert where there is an ancient sundial artifact that produces freshwater. The locals are confused about what to do because a group of foreign dwarves came to town and demanded their leader to kneel before the so-called Mountain King. No one knows what this is about but the dwarves have shown up in force to intimidate them.

This adventure shall test minds and hearts. The characters travel to the depths of the desert to find the Hall of the Mountain King, a decrepit underground compound where a faction of dwarves has settled. Their Leader, Vallarg Vik, wears the ancient Crown of the Mountain King and has been possessed by the spirit of a bygone ruler from eons past. The character's actions shall determine the future of hundreds of people near the Great Desert.

An ancient device located by the square of Sundial Town radiates an arcane aura and produces fresh water at dawn. The locals would not be able to settle in this location without this vital source of water.

The upper level of the Hall of the Mountain King features many lethal traps that shall catch the characters off-guard if they are not careful.

The lower level of the hall houses the grandiose throne room where the new Mountain King awaits the intruders. The characters have many different options about how to deal with the rebel king. Their choices shall direct the fate of all those who live near the Great Desert.
