Sun-Dial Town is in danger from the Mountain King! (Patreon)

Traveler! The dwellers of the arid region in different settlements all received a letter that said there was a new ruler. The Mountain King, an entity that remains clouded in shadows since no one knows who he is. Local rulers have been instructed to appear before the Mountain King in his hall so that they can swear their allegiance to him. A scout in Sun-Dial Town has confirmed that a group of warring dwarves now lives in an ancient ruin in the desert. It is said they were built by dwarves so long ago no one remembers anything else from them. All that remains are the shunned ruins; a broken memento of a time long gone...

At its center, a large sun dial surrounded by a pond of natural spring water is the main feature of the humble town. The sun dial was built hundreds of years ago, no one really knows how it came to be:
