433 Astral Dial (Patreon)

Denizens of the Tower!

In the northern depths of the Misty Forest, a strange relic of the past awaits unknown to the human settlers of the Brukesian Duchy. The centaurs call it the Astral Dial and are the most proficient in its use. This ancient elven device is a kind of clock/observatory of astral bodies and planes in the Astral Sea. Its dials and runes turn around over weeks or months and can be read to interpret all kinds of arcane teachings. The centaurs do not comprehend it completely but they can make calculations and prophecies with it.

They consider the place secret and a group of them are sworn into protecting the Astral Dial from non-fey races like humans. The small cabal of horsemen are extremely territorial and vanquish anyone who gets too close without a chance of negotiation.

This is the seventeenth detailed hex in our Brukesian Duchy hexcrawl project. The maps and overall information are vanilla enough that people can repurpose them for other settings and adventures. This is a 30x30 squares forest map!
