This mine belongs to a group of dwarves, but that is just a front. The dwarves run a criminal syndicate that focuses on stealing, breaking and entering, and raiding caravans. People still ignore that these dwarves are guilty of the recent wave of crimes. But things might take a swift turn after a couple of city guards came to inspect the place and were led to the lair of a carrion crawler. Since the guards never returned to tell the tale, there is reason enough to send a larger party. The commander does not feel like putting more of his men at risk; he is now more inclined to send a group of hired brigands or mercenaries.
