763 Faradak (D&D 5e + Shadowdark) (Patreon)

Denizens of the Tower! The characters encounter their first taste of the great divide of ancestries in the capital of Faradak. Dwarves flounder in the streets covered in fine silks and pricy gemstones while their goblin servants struggle to keep up carrying their burdens. The dwarves' greed has brought out the worst of them in the mining sites where goblins waste away doing hard work trying to pay off generational debts that do not seem to diminish at all.

In Faradak, the characters meet many dwarves and goblins of different social levels. All is not lost and not all are part of a monolithic way of thinking. Many goblins slowly flee the city and flee south where a goblin rebel named Rakkar has settled a campsite on the border of the realm. The locals see this as a threat but the king refuses to issue a command thanks to the influence of her consort. Alas, the Royal Mining Co., who stands much to lose from this situation, has already offered large bounties to take care of the most important goblin targets.
