Looking through my past sketchbooks I found that pretty nice drawing. I really like her face on it, that's why I decided to scan it and give her some digital corrections along with a soft coloring, and I think it turned out pretty nice. What do you think about it? Should I do more stuff like that in the future?

I went through a long way of looking for a perfect sketchbook that I would like. There are a lot of stuff on the market for sure, so difficult choice, and you know, it all depends of personal preference. I have quite a heavy hand, so I need high density pages to avoid any bleeding or ghosting. Sadly, it mostly goes along with rough texture which I don't like. That's  what you can see on the rough scan - with all the grain and the rough edges at it finest :). Texture of paper was probably one of reasons why I don't use this particular sketchbook anymore, since I'm rather into drawing a lot of details. But as I said, it's rather a personal preference, I'm sure it would work well for more organic shapes & shadows, e.g. figure practicing or so.

If you're interested, this particular sketchbook is from Canson, not sure which one (probably ART BOOK model). Nice and thick paper, with pretty creamy colour I like, has a lot of pages and good price, which is kinda helpful when you're that kind of person afraid to draw anything not to "ruin" your precious book :). Grainy texture is a con for me though, along with that it doesn't work with other media like watercolors and such.

I really miss sketching a lot, and I'm really hoping for more time to get back to it :)
