Team RWBY spend a loving Christmas together. (Written by Mitsu)

Ruby and Weiss sat on the couch, a pleasant smile on each of their faces. It was their first Christmas together as girlfriends, and neither wanted the snuggles to end. Seeing as Weiss hated her father and brother with a passion surpassed only by her affections for Ruby, the clear choice was a warm and toasty Christmas in her girlfriend's house, wrapped in her cloak and eating her cookies.

Seeing as Weiss was staying here for the duration of Christmas break, Yang had convinced Blake to come too so they could have the whole team together. The two were upstairs in Yang's room, probably playing video games or something. Weiss had a far more enjoyable time in mind, and it included the present she had sent in from her estate.

Still though, retrieving it meant she would be leaving Ruby's embrace. She wasn't good with that yet.

“Hey Weiss…” Ruby broke the comfortable silence between them. Weiss, without even opening her eyes, hummed an acknowledgement. “I hope you didn't go overboard on us this Christmas… My dad gets a little crazy when he gets outbought.” Ruby chuckled a bit.

“Ruby Rose, there is no overboard when I’m buying for you.” She said. Ruby gave a little look over to her girlfriend. “Besides. Every lien I spend on you is a lien I take from father, so you don't have to worry about it.” Weiss opened her eyes and glanced in Ruby's direction.

“But really, I'd be happy with anything!” Ruby said. Weiss gave a delighted roll of her eyes.

“And that's why you deserve everything.” Weiss said. “I just missed Christmas last year since our anniversary is in January, so this is make up.” The Schnee said.

“You still got me that awesome mod for Crescent Rose…” Ruby shift and smiled to herself. Her girlfriend knew exactly what she liked. Weiss waved a hand dismissively.

“Only one gift. Don't worry, I have a few thousand to make up for it.” She said as if giving Ruby one gift was an insult to them both. Ruby giggled a little.

“A thousand gifts… Good one Weiss!” She smiled and giggled more. “......” She was the only one laughing. “... Weiss?” She looked over to her girlfriend. “... Weissohmygodno.” She paled a bit.

“My girlfriend deserves nothing less.” Weiss said with as straight a face as she could. She, albeit reluctantly, uncurled herself from Ruby's cloak and stood, stretching. “Now watch and be ama-” She was interrupted as a clatter came from upstairs. Ruby and Weiss both looked at the ceiling for a moment before Ruby giggled.

“Yang probably lost a few times. She gets a bit mad…” The Rose smiled for a moment.

“... I wouldn't know.” Weiss sighed. Stupid Yang always killing her in that game… Weiss was beginning to think it was on purpose, too!

“Fighting games just aren't your thing, Weiss.” Ruby shifted her smile to the Heiress. Weiss sighed and took a breath.

“Anyway! Watch and be amazed!” She folded her arms and went into the kitchen. Ruby blinked and looked at the door. And she waited. And waited. It was pretty quiet now, and she could hear Yang and Blake upstairs.

“Yang, it's so hard~!” Blake complained. Ruby giggled and rolled her eyes. Either Yang had stopped holding back, or they had switched to a different game that Blake wasn’t used to.

“Aaaaaah!” Yang yelled. Clearly, neither of them were used to it. Ruby smiled and plopped onto her side. It seemed like it would be a little whi-oh there's Weiss. She carried a bowl with her and set it in front of Ruby. She sat back up and looked down.

Rice.

It was rice.

“... Weiss?” Ruby asked. The Heiress looked inordinately proud of herself.

“Eat up! I made it myself!” Weiss said, a superior look on her face. Ruby blinked again. Weiss cooked? Sure it was only rice, but Weiss never cooked anything well. And rice was her worst dish. It either turned to gruel, or was crunchy. A few times, it had somehow burned in the water. Ruby was still trying to puzzle that one out. Either way, Ruby shrugged and picked up the bowl. She grabbed the chopsticks Weiss had, for some ungodly reason, decided to give to her, and began eating.

It was only a few grains at a time, but they were… rice. Not too mushy or hard, it was legitimately good rice. Weiss shifted before handing her a spoon. Much better. Ruby began eating more now and it was clear that the quality was uniform throughout. It was plain, but it was the most delicious thing Weiss had ever personally cooked. Weiss shifted a few times as well, clearly trying not to seem anxious but failing spectacularly.

“......... What do you think?” Weiss asked, trying to sound like she didn't care about the response. Ruby finished off the bowl and gave a big smile.

“It was really good, Weiss! Like a thousand tiny presents!” Ruby felt very proud she had gotten her girlfriend’s joke now. Weiss rolled her eyes with a smile and pecked the Rose on the lips.

“Your thousands of presents is that I'm going to get better at cooking until I'm better than you! And then I'll cook you meals that you've never even dreamed of!” Weiss said, letting her excitement show through. Ruby couldn't help but feel grateful when she saw Weiss peaking through the cracks of her cold exterior.

“I can't wait, Weiss.” She giggled as they heard something break upstairs. It sounded very large.

“... You think we should go up there?” Weiss asked. Ruby hummed.

“I mean, usually Blake would calm Yang down when she gets too mad… They have that phrase they use about the sun or whatever.” The reaper said. Weiss closed her eyes and remembered their little ritual to get Yang to take a minute and breath. In the silence, they heard the two again.

“Yes! Yes! Yes yes yes yes!” They both shouted before Ruby chuckled.

“Guess they finished.” She said.

“Maybe. But anyway, I made a lot of rice if you want more!” Weiss said, against trying to hide her nervousness. Ruby smiled and held her bowl out.

“With extra love, please!” She requested happily. Weiss’ face flushed as she grabbed it and hurried off. The stairs creaked behind her as she looked behind the couch, Yang and Blake descending from the second floor. “Oh hey, you guys did finally finish!” Ruby gave a smile to them. Yang and Blake both nearly jumped out of their skin.

“Y-You heard us?” Blake asked. Ruby rolled her eyes playfully and nodded.

“Of course! It must have been a hard game if Yang was breaking stuff.” Ruby said. The couple near the stairs both blinked and nodded in eerie unison.

“Yep! It was very… very hard…” Blake shifted and held her arm a little awkwardly. Yang, on the other hand, smirked a little.

“Blake broke a few things, too.” She nudged the faunus with her elbow.

“Yang~, stop it~...” Blake playfully smacked the blonde. Ruby looked between the two before gasping and pointing a shaky finger at them.

“Y-You! Did you-!?” She began. Both Blake and Yang paled considerably. “Are you two together now? Did you kiss?” She asked excitedly. This would be huge news! Blake and Yang dating would be amazing! They were always around each other anyway! Yang looked at the girl beside her and hummed.

“You wanna answer this one?” She asked. Blake sighed and looked to the ceiling, as if hoping the answer laid there.

“... We aren't… together together…” She said, wondering if she was wrong for taking Nora's phrase. “Not like you and Weiss. But we did kiss.” Blake said. Ruby blinked.

“... I dun get it.” She tilted her head. The door opened to the kitchen as Weiss walked in with a tray of bowls.

“I heard those two come down and got everyone some.” The Heiress said, setting it on the table.

“Oh! You guys have to try the rice! Weiss made it herself!” Ruby said excitedly. Yang chuckled and sat down in a chair, looking to the food.

“Hey, I got lucky already today, I don't wanna push it!” Yang earned a glare from Blake with that one.

“We're just friends!” Blake insisted, at the request of no one. Yang giggled and rolled her eyes at the blushing kitten.

“Yeah, but I'm definitely benefitting from it.” She said. Blake fumed for a moment before silencing herself with rice. Whatever emotion she was feeling melted when she ate the rice.

“Wait… Weiss made this?” She asked. Yang, curious, took a bit herself.

“... Weiss Schnee? The woman who made food a four letter word?” Yang looked equally disbelieving of the claim.

“I'm doing better!” Weiss said defensively. Huffing, she folded her arms and looked away. Getting up, she walked into the kitchen with a purpose.

“Wait, Weiss!” Ruby began getting up to go and comfort Weiss. However, the Heiress emerged again, wheeling a large present in on a cart that Ruby had never seen.

“I WAS going to share this with everyone, but me and Ruby can finish it ourselves.” She huffed and pulled the ribbon. Said ribbon came undone and the box fell open.

“... Weissthatcakeisgigantic…” Ruby mumbled.

“All the way from Atlas. My cake butler made it for the party.” Weiss looked happy with herself. “They make the best cake in the world.” She bragged. Yang rolled her eyes with a chuckle.

“Man, is that your present? I got Blake five and we're just friends!” Yang put emphasis on the last bit. Blake looked annoyed.

“We agreed the limit was three!” Blake huffed.

“Yeah we did.” The blonde pointed finger guns at Blake.

“That wasn't even a pun…” Blake groaned. Meanwhile, Weiss and Ruby had already started into the cake. And in that cake, they experience true transcendence. Ruby fancied herself a good baker but in cakes, she knew she couldn't hold a candle to the artisan who created this.

“Weiss, I wanna marry your cake butler…” Ruby said.

“Me first…” Weiss practically moaned.

“Okay, you, then your butler.” Ruby specified.

“Not what I meant but it works…” Weiss melted in her seat. The two took another bite and both moaned almost obscenely. Yang raised an eyebrow at the two.

“Geez, get a room.” Yang said.

“I think I will get a room with this cake… I think I could show this cake a good time.” Weiss said. Ruby laughed a little.

“I love that show…” She sighed happily. Yang and Blake looked at each other and both took a piece of cake. Each taking a bite, their eyes widened.

“... I think I just went into heat…” Blake mumbled.

“Its full of stars…” Truly, the cake was magnificent if Yang let Blake's compliment(?) slip uncommented on. “I take it back, Ice Queen, this is the best gift you could have gotten us.” They both began devouring their cake with fervour. Weiss huffed.

“I told you not to underestimate my cake butler!” Weiss said with a superior grin. Yang waved her fork dismissively.

“I wasn't paying attention then.” She said. Weiss rolled her eyes.

“Besides, this isn't my only present.” She said.

“Weiss is gonna start cooking for me!” Ruby smiled. Yang grabbed another piece of cake.

“Rest in peace, Rubles.” Yang commented. Weiss stomped her foot, but whatever tantrum she was about to start into was lost as the sound of a Bullhead began getting closer. It sounded big, potentially military grade. Ruby gasped in delight, even as their house shook. That meant it was far lower than normal, and Ruby always loved going out to see them pass over the house.

She used her semblance and rosed out of the door. Meanwhile, Weiss got up with the dignified aura of a cat who had just caught a bird. With a calm stride she followed her girlfriend. Blake and Yang blinked to each other before they followed suit.

What awaited them was somehow completely unexpected, and yet totally believable. It was a military Bullhead, with presents in its cargo.

“I might have forgotten to mention that this is my thousands of presents too.” Weiss said to Ruby. In the distance, there were more coming. Ruby blinked and could only think of an eight letter phrase she would come to use often with her girlfriend.

“... Weiss why.”
