Such a good episode imo. Not brilliant, I agree that the forcefield being over just one door rather than the whole building makes no sense. That bothers me too lol. But that aside I do really enjoy it. Sarah is definitely a fantastic character. She's played by Aisling Bea, she's a stand up comedian here in Britain and improvised some of her lines which is why her character was so funny. She's the highlight of the episode for sure. As for the guy, I'm still not convinced he didn't kill he ex girlfriends lol. He has creeper vibes to me. 😬 But still a good character. I absolutely LOVE the Doctor's speech about living being better than the alternative, Jodie smashed that and it really makes me smile every time. Dan is again brilliant in this episode. He's funny and sweet, he's my favourite of Jodie's companions tbh. And as for the stuff with Yaz and The Doctor, this will be a long paragraph lol but I hope you read it. After watching these episodes for the first time I thought the same as you. Yaz being in love with The Doctor romantically and visa versa seems to have come out of nowhere. It feels really random and so late on in their time together. A lot of people didn't like this. But over time public opinion has shifted and so has mine. I've rewatched Jodie's episodes several times now, this watch through with you is my 6th or 7th time now I think. And on a rewatch I really do see the signs of Yaz liking The Doctor earlier and of The Doctor seeming to talk to Yaz differently to the others. Producer Matt Strevens said that there was originally no plans for a 13 and Yaz romance. But after series 11, Jodie brought Thasmin (13 and Yaz's ship name) social media content to set. She showed the writers and producers fanart and poems and fanfics and tweets etc. Jodie said that it could mean a lot to people for see a same gender romantic type relationship for The Doctor on the show and she really pushed for it. You can Google this if you like, there are many articles about it. But yeah, the Doctor Who team listened to Jodie and started planting the seeds throughout series 12. Like in The Haunting Of Villa Diodati Yaz has a hearfelt moment with the woman who fancied Lord Byron and Yaz hinted there that she has feelings for The Doctor. Then in The Timeless Children when The Doctor chooses to leave her companions to sacrifice herself to kill The Master, Yaz was WAY more affected by it than the others and The Doctor did focus her goodbye and her apology on Yaz. Then in the Christmas special following that we see that Yaz has literally been living in the second TARDIS for months, refusing to leave it, and writing down every possible theory as to how The Doctor could still be alive. And they had a really heartfelt moment at the end of the episode. Then during The Flux series there was of course the way Yaz acted with the hologram, there was the way The Doctor apologized to Yaz for keeping things from her and I think they nearly kissed before Dan interrupted them and I honestly think the way that The Doctor has been so snappy towards Yaz in series 13 and in this special shows how much The Doctor likes her. Go with me on this lol. The 12th Doctor dealt with SO much loss. First he lost Clara who he was in love with (imo), then he lost Bill and then he had to send River off to the library. He really went through it and it broke him. 12 started closed off and grumpy but warmed up over time and 13 wasn't going to make the same mistake, she wasn't going to let her guard down just to be hurt yet again. But she could feel herself being drawn to Yaz romantically in the way she has been so many times before to other people, so she feels the need to push Yaz away to protect herself. That's why she yells at Yaz, that's why she continues to refuse to tell Yaz anything about her life or about what The Flux was really about or about what happened to her after The Flux. The Doctor is closing herself off and pushing Yaz away because she can't lose someone she's in love with again. And for me the way The Doctor pushes Yaz away is proof of how much she does love her. And I actually think that's quite beautiful in a way. Oh and the guy at the end who was videoing the fireworks was Karl, the guy who was in the crane in Jodie's first episode The Woman Who Fell To Earth. Weird cameo and most people did say "who's that?" lol. But yeah, that's who he is. 😂 I look forward to the next episode next week. It divides opinion so I'm very curious to see what you think about it. 😊

Yeah I didn't recognize the random guy at the end until someone pointed out online that it was the guy from the first episode of Jodie's run. I personally really love this story. It's a top 3 Jodie episode for me. A top 3 Dalek episode too, and a top 10 episode overall. My only gripe with this episode, similar to you, is that it doesn't really deal with Flux enough. As a standalone episode, amazing, in context of what came before, wrong.

Your last sentence perfectly sums up exactly how I feel about this episode. That's what I was feeling at the end in the thoughts segment, but just couldn't figure out how to say it. lol
