A Few Notes:

  • Please no spoilers beyond this episode unless you see that later episodes have already been released. In that case, no spoilers beyond those episodes.
  • This reaction is in a watch-along format. This means you'll need your own copy of the episode to watch alongside my reaction. This is in an effort to avoid copyright infringement.
  • If you're based in the UK (or using a UK streaming site), here are instructions for how to get your copy to sync with mine.
  • The show footage will play for the first 30 seconds with both video and audio. After that, the show footage will be silenced, and the video will be blurred for the remainder of the episode. The phrase you couldn't quite make out is "The Hand of Omega". As for what it means, you'll find out in due course... :-) Coal Hill is indeed Clara's school, but before that it was the school that Ian and Barbara taught at, and Susan attended, in the very first episode "An Unearthly Child" (which is, of course, why it was reused for Clara in the fiftieth anniversary year). "Remembrance of the Daleks" was designed to kick off the 25th anniversary season by having the Doctor return to the scene of his first adventure, and it contains many easter eggs for anyone who remembers the earlier story. The French Revolution textbook that Ace finds in the lab is meant to be the same one we saw Susan looking through in "An Unearthly Child", and the Totters Lane junkyard where they encountered the Dalek is the same location where we first saw the TARDIS.

This is a good episode, this was the first time Daleks could hover and fly up stairs
