I think the little robot Bell had was a sort of futuristic baby monitor. Makes all her talking to it that much cuter on rewatch. It was bold to start off this far in the season with a totally new character, but she was instantly likable and engaging. They did really well in getting you invested in her and Vinder's story It had been implied before with the dog dude that he knew the Doctor but she didn't know him, and she'd started off the season chasing him down to get info on the Division So I think its safe to assume that was him in her memories.

This episode is a strange one. It's mostly enjoyable but, after multiple rewatches, I do think they packed too much in here. I can't say much more at this point, but it'll be interesting to see how you feel as the series progresses. One thing I can talk about is The Doctor being so snarky and rude, especially to Yaz. We've seen 13 snap and be rude towards her companions several times during her run and she's FOR SURE the most closed off Doctor. Yaz has been with her for years at this point but how much does she know about The Doctor? Very little. She knows about Gallifrey and she knows that The Doctor isn't who she thought she was. But Yaz doesn't know about Ruth or about Division or about the details of all the timeless child stuff. And that's just scratching the surface. Graham and Ryan knew even less than Yaz. And Dan knows absolutely nothing lol. And I actually find that really interesting, this is The Doctor as we've never seen them before. My personal theory is that what 12 went through has caused 13 to keep her companions at arms length. She's picked up companions because she can't stand to be alone but she also doesn't want to get hurt again. 12 started off cold and distant but warmed up over time. But he lost Clara in a very traumatic way, he had to send River off to the library, he lost Bill in the worst way possible and he lost Nardole too. So I feel like 13 staying closed off and cold is showing that she doesn't want to make the same mistakes as 12 and open up just to be hurt again. And I find that so fascinating to watch. I think she's written really well. 👌💕
