A Few Notes:

  • Please no spoilers beyond episode 1x unless you see that later episodes have already been released. In that case, no spoilers beyond those episodes.
  • This reaction is in a watch-along format. This means you'll need your own copy of the episode to watch alongside my reaction. This is in an effort to avoid copyright infringement.
  • If you're based in the UK (or using a UK streaming site), here are instructions for how to get your copy to sync with mine.
  • The show footage will play for the first 30 seconds with both video and audio. After that, the show footage will be silenced, and the video will be blurred for the remainder of the episode. There is also a count-up timer that begins once the episode has started. These things will hopefully make it easier for you to keep your copy of the episode synced with mine.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but Job was played by David Tennants father in law Peter Davison. Job's son was played by Ty Tennant, David's son. Also fun fact, pretty much the majority of this season was shot in Scotland.

No spoilers here, but there is a connection between the minisodes and the current events, but it's more of a thematic element that highlights some of the things going on in the current time. I'm more of an analyst/meta type person and after watching the entire season, I found that the minisodes provide an interesting context to the modern events that isn't necessarily obvious the first time you see them. That said, I can definitely see why they wouldn't be for everyone. They do pull back from the main story when they happen and it does slow the forward pace if what you're invested in is the main mystery.
