this is the first time i've watched this in years, yup very weak story. But I did notice a lot of similarities with the series 8 'flatline' story from DW. 2D becoming 3D, and Clyde/Rigsy using their art to trick the villain into their defeat.

Siobhan Linehan

Yeah, I'm with you on this story. Not good and definitely worse than I remember. You're right than the woman playing the Mona Lisa looked nothing like her. I could've forgiven that but her acting was awful, which is a surprise because the actress Suranne Jones is usually so good. She was also pregnant while filming this which is very obvious despite the giant dress they put her in. And the make up was awful too. Plus I don't understand why she had a strange northern English accent and she was really OTT and cheesy. The story itself was quite predictable as well. Apart from the guy destroying the puzzle box and Miss Trupp telling him to shove off lol, which were moments I liked. But K9 coming back through the sketch book was easy to work out. And also a lot of things were left unexplained. Why did the Mona Lisa start to turn back into paint when she reached outside? There was no explanation at all as to why the magic was contained to the museum walls. We never found out why she could take things from paintings and also put people in paintings. It makes no sense that she said she wanted to feel the air and touch the grass outside and then 5 minutes later was saying she wanted a world of fire and lava. Etc etc. As for Sarah Jane, she wasn't in this series as much because the actress was gradually becoming more unwell with her cancer. I'm sure you're away by now that she passed away during series 5. They had a lot more planned but that series ended very early and that was it. But yeah that's why she's being featured less and why the kids are taking over so much. I'm not mad about that though because they're really coming into their own. I love that Clyde is the centre of many stories, I still love his connection with Rani and Luke is evolving as a character to become more independent. There are still some VERY good stories to come. I promise. 🙂
