I loved your reaction to this, and am in total agreement in your opinion on it. This is one of my favourite stories of the show! I loved the structure of this episode too, the continual back and forth between the past and present, the tying up of the dialogue of the Old Rani and present day Rani. It was really effectively done. The introduction of old Rani wasn’t just a cheap trick to get you into the episode in the beginning, it is the clever way the whole story is told and the start of part of the mystery. And I love the mystery of the episode. I love that you really can’t tell how the story is going to play out or what is really going on - as you said, it’s the right kind of being confused! I love all the characters introduced here too. Harry, Sam, Eve, Old Rani - they’re all really compelling and well performed by the actors. But it also manages to do really well with our main cast, I feel like we got some good development of Rani, Sarah Jane and Luke to some extent in this episode. It’s also great that there’s no ‘over the top’ melodramatic villain for once, although they have their place of course, in fact as you said, there isn’t really a villain at all, the plot is driven by mystery, miscommunication and a few mistakes. And it has such a wholesome ending which always just makes me happy!

I'm so glad you enjoyed this story, it's a favourite of mine too. I really didn't predict that kid being Eve and Sam's son. And it is nice when the aliens turn out to not be villains at all. I also like these sort of stories and I'm also a Fear Her fan, so we're on the same wave length about that lol. The actor who plays Eve and Sam's son is Greg Sulkin. He's appeared in shows like Wizards Of Waverly Place, Marvel's Runaways and the Netflix sitcom Pretty Smart. Among many others. And it's never confirmed, but it seems quite obvious that Clyde and Rani do end up together in the future from that scene. Rani's kids are mixed raced and her not mentioning visiting Clyde as well as Luke and Maria makes it seem quite obvious. The writers said that it's up to the interpretation of the viewers what that scene meant, and like 90% of us believe it's quite clear that Rani married Clyde. I remember how excited all of us Clani shippers were after this episode aired. 😂 I can't wait for next week's episodes. They're two favourites of mine, it's a great but sad story so I think you'll really like it. 😊
