I love how this story starts out as seeming like we're back in time during WW1 and then starts throwing in little clues that not all is as it seems and then it throws Roman soldiers at us at the end of this episode. Leaving the viewers asking what all of this could possibly mean and how does it all connect together?! The episode 2 cliffhanger is a total game changer and flips this story on its head! One of my favourite cliffhangers ever.

This is one of those stories where the viewer is drip fed small pieces of information, without ever being told too much. It's a clever device to keep the story intriguing over it's protracted running time.
