This pilot reaction comes from Amber on the Britany's Bestie tier. Thank you so much, Amber!!

*****

This is where I react to pilot episodes of shows I've never seen (so, obviously, NO SPOILERS please).

If I enjoy the pilot and, more importantly, if I get enough positive feedback from you, I might turn it into a full reaction series at some point.

A Few Notes:

  • This video is in a watch along format. This means you'll need your own copy of the episode to watch alongside my reaction. This is in an effort to avoid copyright infringement.
  • If you're based in the UK (or using a UK streaming site), here are instructions for how to get your copy to sync with mine.
  • The show footage will play for the first 30 seconds with both video and audio. After that, the show footage will be silenced, and the video will be blurred for the remainder of the episode. There is also a count-up timer that begins once the episode has started. These things will hopefully make it easier for you to keep your copy of the episode synced with mine.
  • If you want to know what’s coming up, check out the schedule here.

Glad you enjoyed the pilot Britany! Yeah, I can understand that editing this for YouTube would be really awkward and difficult lol. 1. So yeah, the phones give away that this is set in modern day but I can understand why you'd presume it's the 70s at the beginning! I remember before I even watched the show and just saw it advertised on Netflix, I had a preconception that it was an American series until they spoke and I was like, "Oh, okay!" . Speaking of which... 2. The stylistic and aesthetic choices of the show are effectively a "love letter" to American director John Hughes films, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, etc. IIRC it was the lead writer who said this. 3. I know what you mean about wanting to live there! They film it in Wales in Wye Valley, it looks so gorgeous, especially the house. Though they definitely make the UK look sunnier than what it usually is, lmao. I think the cinematography is stunning. 4. I love Otis and Maeve, too! My favourite characters for sure. I love Eric and Aimee, too.

This was interesting and not at all what I was expecting! I really like Otis and Eric as characters!
