A Few Notes:

Yes, it is a pretty rushed conclusion, not helped by the fact that the episode is a couple of minutes shorter than usual. I think they ran out of time to record all the material needed; certainly the final confrontation between Salamander and the Doctor was supposed to be much more extensive, but technical problems and equipment failures meant that most of the planned split screen shots had to be written off. It still works (barely), but having just one quick face-to-face shot followed by Salamander immediately whooshing out into space is not really a satisfying payoff for six episodes of complex intrigue.

Okay, well, I'm really glad it's not just me who felt this was a little rushed here at the end. It makes sense, though, if they ran into issues during production. :-/
