I think this series is even better on a rewatch. It's probably the one I rewatch the most. In terms of qualifying the finale as "not the biggest", it really depends on your point of view. Technically the last 2 episodes are both the "finale" and it includes all of the Doctor's enemies coming together to defeat him and the TARDIS exploding and destroying all of time. Those are pretty big events, if I do say so myself. The final episode definitely has a more quiet vibe and a relatively simple solution but I think it works for the story. We went big on the penultimate episode and then had an intimate final episode. This series all revolve around the theme of fairy tales. It starts with a child's imaginary friend and it ends with the child wishing everything back to normal. Of course all of it is wrapped around a coherent sci-fi world but it still works as a magical journey. I think the show has higher peaks but throughout my many rewatches, I've come to the conclusion that this is the most thematically consistent of all the series.

I was lucky enough to visit the British Museum 25 years ago, and I was so excited that they filmed there. You can see the real Rosetta Stone on display at the 21:00 mark at the top of the stairs when the Doctor "dies". The history nerd in me loves that so much.
