Finally, a story where the Doctor tries to get people to be the best of humanity, and someone fails miserably. I think he handled it as well as he could, to be fair. But real people aren't all idealism, altruism, and sacrifice. I'm glad we got to see that here.

to be completely honest with you i cant watch this two parter it makes me way too upset. i caught the ending and I'm glad that you felt rory's end the way I do, a lot of the time I think people are too numb or shocked or frustrated to fully take it in. similarly to donna's end, any companion/character exit that messes with memory always really really gets me and I also very much appreciated the acting on matt and karen's part in that scene. the doctor looks like he's barely holding it together at the end there.
