I know that im 7 months late to this but the Master was to the Doctor like Moriaty was to Sherlock. He was his equal but evil.

Just 45 minutes of peak television, in my opinion. It brilliantly pays off the return of Captain Jack. It pulls off a massive twist with the pocketwatch from a few episodes earlier. It brings back a famous villain, in a way that is perfectly intriguing for viewers who have no idea who he is. Plus we've got the fantastic sci-fi concepts around the futurekind and the end of the universe and utopia. Plus the music is at 11/10 intensity, the characters are being pushed to their limits, and there's even a whole bunch of humour! AND there's even time to talk about Rose, and for The Doctor to ask Jack very sincerely if he wants to die. This episode shouldn't work, but it does. If this isn't my favourite episode of Doctor Who, it's definitely in the top 3 (the others of which you haven't seen yet haha)

Oh yes, this episode left us with SO much to think about! This does feel like a finale. And I'm glad that Jack is happy again. But yes, more comments on the other side of this two-parter. 😁

I completely agree with basically everything you said. The only thing I find a little disappointing about the episode is that I would've loved to have gotten more information about the non-humans and to have seen Utopia (if it even actually exists). Both of those storylines were fascinating and I wish they would've spent more time on them.
