While this is an entertaining story, I prefer the first Dalek serial; as it worked better for the limited budget available to them (and the FX technology of the time) This story is hugely ambitious; and they do their best (the exterior scenes are well handled - particularly the London locations), but the scope of the story is WAY beyond anything that the production team could ever realistically handle. :( The final five minutes are lovely, though. Touching, without being overly sentimental. Carole Ann Ford was not happy with the way Susan was written; and when it became clear that the showrunners had no plans to develop her character further, she asked to be let go.
