Not a big deal, but my copy doesn't sync up properly with this. Does it work fine for others? I'm using BritBox, maybe it syncs fine with Prime Video? I have heard something about there being 25fps and 30fps versions of the show that don't quite sync up. Not sure.

Are you based in the UK? If so, I've heard from a few people they can't do the watch along style because there are different streaming rates there than in the US. That's why I'm still doing fully edited versions for shows in the Whoniverse since most of the viewers are in the UK.

I did a ranking of all of New Who a while back and this came bottom for me. It's not terrible but there are a lot of moments that I find awkward. I think - and I know this is harsh - that they needed a better actor for Chloe. I also think some of the dialogue was cheesey or overblown. The idea of a newsreader saying that the Olympic Dream is dead because the guy dropped the torch seems weird to me. He would certainly comment it would be a big moment but to try to turn it into a moment of supposed disaster that the Doctor then redeems feels forced. The dad sub-plot feels unnecessary. I guess it adds extra menace but it's also quite dark in a way the rest of the plot isn't as much. There's danger but tonally it's different. But the Doctor/Rose flirting works well. So funny that the first time I watched this series I was sort of blind to the romance there, I was just so used to the idea of Doctor Who not doing that kind of story. Now whenever I re-watch it, it's so obvious! Lewis was the long-suffering colleague to a TV detective called Inspector Morse. He went on to have his own show.

I absolutely could not agree with you more on basically everything you said about the line about the Olympic dream being dead, things feeling forced, and the dad sub-plot being unnecessary. In fact, all of those things are in my notes about this episode for the series 2 thoughts video. lol Thanks for letting me know about Lewis! :)
