The Theory of Magic

When spellcasters prep a spell, they are creating an entanglement between their souls and the quantized fields of ley energy which permeate the cosmos. (Or, more accurately, they shape their spiritual valence - the "surface" at which the soul's energy interfaces with the rest of reality - to create specific desmata, or channels, which are entangled with the ley fields.
