Zariel's experiences at Idyllglen refocused her. Although she had served in Heaven's armies, the conflict had always been somewhat abstract to her; or, at least, an affair of the Outer Planes where the conflict had long been relegated in most realms to a Cold War where the borders between realms had been long-settled.

We just finished for tonight. They’re in the portal room and the helm when in the water pushed the demonic control of the portal back but it’s on the rogues head (he can’t breathe!!) . They’re keeping the incoming demons at bay while the rogue is rolling a die to determine if he’s screaming in internal; celestial or somewhat aware. We lost and then gained a player so a paladin of Torm appeared through the portal once it was open to torn for two rounds If they can’t close the abyssal portal, the secret passage exists and they will be pushed out by the battle (unless they can push the battle back) I’ve got plenty of options, but this isn’t a good party and they’ve been incredibly helpful to Tiamat through some lucky breaks. Not sure where this goes, but they’re not good and were in uncharted territory.

They figured out that when the helm was in the water, the portal strengthened for Torm. Giddeon came down to fight the demons, and to shut the demonic portal down, stood on the poor helpless rogue w/ the helm on his head. With the portal glowing blue, the brave blood hunter said a prayer to Torm and jumped in - in his vision his dead brother wanted him to come play, but when he couldn't said he understood and gave him a lucky rabbit for good luck (and a temporary boon from Torm). He went back thinking that maybe with the boon he could pull the helmet off, so he did! He then rolled a 18 to run and leap up and slam the helm onto Giddeon's head (20) so now Giddeon is screaming and falls prone trying to remove the helm. The party then grabs him and shoves him into the portal, helm first. The helm going into the portal sends radiant sparks flying damaging many in the room, it then servers the portal, and Giddeon's head. Now they have to scramble and got railroaded into climbing the chains down to Avernus.
