For super fan anims, I am going to change things so people in that tier can get an low res anim every month instead of every 3 months, mostly because it can get troublesome to track and after trying it out last month it seemed to work out pretty well. 

I feel like there;s something i'm forgett...OH

So I know a few of you have noticed/mentioned some unfairness with the polls. Generally, while the democratic process is pretty good, it does prevent certain characters from actually getting a chance to have content created for them. If you have any suggestions on how you'd like to see less popular characters get a chance to shine, let me know! 

I tried to address this with the loser's bracket, but that generally didn't pan out how I thought it would,(the 2nd most popular would usually win) so im open to suggestions.

One idea to get less popular characters to have a fair shot could be to simply not include the most popular ones in at least the two or three next polls, then put them in again in one or two polls, then take them out for another two or three polls, etc

I second Dawnstar's idea. Rotate the most popular with the least popular to get the scale-up so they can go through the pipeline faster.

Main characters will always crush everyone or friends of main characters will always crush everyone. Pretty much nothing to do except wait for their day in sun to be over and their voting completed before other characters can get their turn. Athena and her friends will always dominate the polls. Which is really can't be helped, most of their fans is usually old school fighter games. Winners/loser brackets + high/low res brackets is pretty good way to go at it from what i've seen so far. I expected that hinako girl to win because she's part of athena's gang. And win she did. We just have to be patient and wait for the boring characters to be done before actually new characters get done. I feel like tiffany lords is about to get her turn in few months maybe. its because of them that polls could be done in first place tho. xD

i don't think there's a reasonably fair way to do it besides segregating it by resolution. the runaway winners are typically high res/HD characters. obviously the only downside is that this doubles your workload since you'd be updating two characters also i have been meaning to ask and this is incidental: it seems not all newer releases get follow-on updates for stuff like more stage 2 anims and bj, e.g. miyuki. are you going to be leaving these up to the polls from now on or this is just because your attention has been shifting to SOR2?

I generally agree with most of the folks here that say having unpopular characters shine more rather than the most popular ones that already got attention within the past polls and overruled vast majority of others.

how about dividing the least popular characters by franchise? then the winner is struck off the poll until only one franchise candidate remains, where the poll changes to which position the character gets.
