im using your starter pack. miyuki and all chars except ako use the wrong palettes (ako works bc she has an in-match palette picker). tried changing pal.defaults in .def files and setting ai.randomcolor to 0 in mugen.cfg but nothing works. been having the issue since i installed the starter pack a couple of months back

it's about the button you press to pick the character lad, fairly sure the A button (or whatever you have assigned to it) always picks the default colour. Sorry if this doesn't help.

oh damn... u right. im using a gamepad and didnt know you could use more than one button to pick chars. all fixed. thanks bruv u a lifesaver
