I know I've already explained the differences between the に particle and the で particle in my absolute beginners lesson but I thought I'd make a more in depth lesson about these two particles as a lot of learners still make mistakes using them!

I hope you don't mind me attempting to answer this, however I was passing by and I have an idea as to how to answer. In this instance, you can think of に as direct and へ as vague. I think you can translate へ as 'in the general direction of'. For example if you are going somewhere but not directly or if you don't know the way. Whereas に is used more purposefully for example when you are going straight to somewhere e.g トイレに行く. These aren't the only meanings for these particles but I think that is what you meant about the above sentence? I hope that's right XD
