I'm pushing toward a more colorful piece, but I want to build it up slowly.

Looking back through some of my favorite paintings in my collection, I'm noticing a trend where my best innovations emerge from a process where I am failing to make complete choices early on. Leaving room for inspiration to emerge from under the surface of the work feels a bit scary, but it also feels like the strongest option. Whether or not I like it, I have to trust the process.

I'm a novice in comparison here, but I think I understand the process concept. Sometimes I want to skip forward to splash color or add features because I can't wait to see what it looks like. Then go back to the foundation again to refurbish. Maybe it's good to keep all avenues open, the idea is to keep things flexible, more malleable. The camera angle and star trails create tons of energy here. So fun to look at!
