Here are the roughed out color palettes for this month's work.

Both are familiar and contain a decent amount of reference back to their prior incarnations. Whenever that happens I stress a bit and push to try to find a unique offramp for them. As these pieces come together, they are both likely to diverge into their own directions to better suit their role in the Tarot.

The Hanged Man is about chosen sacrifice - doing something fo others even if it costs you dearly. When the noose is around his neck, it takes the meaning away from self-sacrifice into a totally different meaning that he's done something wrong. For me, it makes reading the card far more difficult. It's beautiful, as is all your work, just a bit of a negative twist. 50 years of working with the cards makes my connection with them a bit more intense than most, I guess.

For me, it immediately makes me think of Sydney Carton going to the guillotine so his unrequited love's boyfriend survives in Tale of Two Cities. Putting yourself in another's place to take their punishment. Different angles to the same art, I suppose
