Detail phase? What happened to the rest of this painting?!

This is actually something I've been poking at for about a year. Longer if you consider the older versions. I'll definitely be uploading those along with the rest of the rewards once this is done.

This was one of those concepts I had planned almost 10 years ago but never quite came together. Infact, I believe it's the last old sketch that I haven't gone back and readdressed.

It's also the last piece I need to complete my Oracle series, which isn't announced officially, so, keep it on the down low.

One of my concerns about where this piece was left off was it's lack of surrealism. Earlier versions were effectively just a large tree elemental. To address that, I've started in incorporate more structure into the Angel's form as well as create echos of its design in the lndscape around it. I'm at the stage of the painting where I am doing most of my work with a round brush, slowly pulling at edges and details. As I feel satisfied with each section of the painting, I will be going in an manually addressing small inconsistencies and polishing each section in turn.
