A lot of the reference pieces I was looking at for this painting were neon and space colors. That wouldn't do. For this current run of Seraphim, I wanted to put them in more natural feeling environments. One of my big goals in this piece is to merge the naturalistic with the artificial. Adding color, I felt like there was an opportunity to play the warm greens of the trees off of the colder hues of Phanuel's metal bits.

I love painting with warm natural colors. Picking away at bits of leaves and bark in shades of yellow, green and brown always leave me feeling satisfied.

I am definitely enjoying the more natural environments for this run. Lovely work!
