Possible Patreon Revamp Coming (Patreon)
Content
I've been thinking recently about revamping the structure of this campaign and I wanted to get your feelings before I put anything into motion.
First off, I've been talking about posting two paintings per month for a long time. Even though the required productivity to do that has returned, I'm glad that I didn't implement it yet. It messes with a couple of structural things having to do with the print rewards and I don't want to suddenly double the cost/prints on people who are already spending an extraordinary amount. If I make this change, there will be lots of notice and it won't happen sooner than Book 2 coming out, if at all. So no worries there.
Collapsing the Reward Tiers
The big change that I'm considering is to collapse the campaign down to just 3 main choices. This is just an idea right now, so please feel free to give feedback. Vote and leave comments if you've got a sec.
$1 - Tip: No rewards
$7.77 - Membership: All available digital rewards, Dropbox Access, 15% discount, Discord, random gifts, etc.
I prefer the idea of making the Patreon less about shopping and more about being part of a club. Creating tiered rewards feels a lot less like people banding together to be part of making this project happen and a lot more like I'm selling you something. Setting a single membership tier feels more in line with the whole point of this thing. This would be a price increase for the majority of you.
$40 - Legacy Print: Membership + Monthly Legacy Prints (ships worldwide)
At this point, I am selling you something but it's still something special and only available on Patreon.
I charge $40 for prints at shows. Increasing the price here would bring this tier in line with the ordinary cost of them and I'd still be paying for the shipping. Even the expensive International shipping (about $23 on average).
$75 - Collector: Membership + Legacy Print + LE print (ships worldwide)
I'm still sort of amazed that this tier is as popular as it is. You people are amazing. You amaze me. I've got no plans for changing this one. Side note, I've always been capping the number of subscriptions for this at 50. It's currently at 44 I think.
