I was considering doing something really sparse with the color, but I've enjoyed playing around with more chromatic palettes for this series, so I'm going to keep rolling with that for the time being. The color process has gotten increasingly esoteric with time. I used to shoot to achieve a color palette with just one gradient map and a hard light layer. Now it's turned into piles of adjustment layers and blending modes. Watching it sped back up, it's so hectic to watch. It's the part of the process where I feel like I'm working at my most improvisational, aside from the initial pencil drawing. 

As much as I know a lot of you subscribe to get insights into the painting process, I wholeheartedly recommend you AVOID coloring your digital paintings like this. It's just not sensible.
