Old Sunset and new lighting enhancements coming! (Patreon)
Content
2024 is right around the corner, and I'm planning a new leap into the level we can reach within The Sims 3. There are no plans to update the optimization tutorial, after all, there haven't been enough changes to justify this need.
However, I'm planning to release some Patreon exclusive content like new ansel settings to make your game incredibly more appealing and realistic!
That said, I also aim to be more present, updating you on what I've been doing in OldSunset! Subscribers to my YouTube channel helped me realize that starting over (as I proposed yesterday) can be a long-term challenge, so I made the decision to do this part-time while I continue to refine and improve what is needed at OldSunset. Starting where we left off. That said, this month I want to invest time into fixing the map lighting and providing an even more immersive visual experience, as everyone here deserves! I'm going to present a little of this at this point. (Please note that I am still adjusting the filters to obtain a more refined, attractive and interesting visual result)
Previous lighting and filters (No improvements were made within the lot to provide improved lighting.)
New filter + new combination of enhancements with lights to transition correctly between floors doors and windows

Properly lit environments will offer stunning screen shots. Remember, this is a work in progress and since fences, stairs and bathtubs receive light in different ways, the end result may evolve further. Either way, I'm excited to see what you guys will be able to create when it's all done. Regarding the changes planned for the neighborhood's style, below I show a small example of what I'm imagining.
This beach was created during a maximalist period of my decorating style. It's incredible how I was able to combine this variety of plants and colors. And I say this not as a personal compliment, but as a point of surprise. Because I've always been a minimalist, but during this period I really went the opposite way and I was happy with that for a while xD
To adapt OldSunset to the 50s, my proposal is to simplify everything, especially to gain in performance without losing in beauty and variety. Of course, OldSunset's current performance is incredible, but nothing is so good that it can't be improved.
I know that looking at the image below firsthand may seem like a step backwards, but remember, you are only seeing the draft and not the entire image. The houses must change too, after all, even the retro-futuristic style of the 50s was a bit mid-century
But I have to confess, I'm not sure if I found the inflection point I wanted, I'm still not satisfied, I'll need to improve my skills
I would be happy to hear your feedback and find out what you think of the proposed changes. I know that looking back and going back can be scary, but sometimes to go forward you need to rebuild. However, I won't let this stop the current version from progressing in other ways, such as with lighting fixes. See you soon for more news and updates! Thanks for the support <3
