Weekly UPDATE (Patreon)

Back for our eagerly awaited weekly update! The past few days have been a veritable forge of productivity behind the scenes at OldSunset. Since last weekend, I've been diving headfirst into some remarkable interactions, engaging directly with each creative master whose works fuel our project. What's been happening? A burst of ideas, lively exchanges, and the burning question: to keep or to link the content in the mods folder to an external download page? And the answer? Get ready to be electrified, because the reception has been nothing short of electric!
Amidst the rays of optimism, some have suggested the idea of linking their virtual treasures rather than "imprisoning" them deep within folders – a decision often influenced by the complexity of their mods, for the sake of clarity and accessibility. And behold, what I've been witnessing is a shower of camaraderie and kindness, all aboard the OldSunset express. This amiable spirit propels me to be even more transparent and respectful, no matter which corner of the Terms of Use (TOU) we find ourselves in. It's truly invigorating and heartwarming to witness these creators so enthused!
Amidst this warm reception from these creative maestros, I've been carving a path to make our monthly updates accessible to all! Speaking of which, your input is of paramount importance, for it's you who steers the ship on this thrilling voyage. Previously, I hesitated at this notion, fearing that a constantly evolving world might somehow get lost in the shadows of forgetfulness. But lately, I've been wondering, "Could it be different?" I'm curious and eager to hear your thoughts!
As we explore these possibilities, I'm envisioning the unfolding of our updates on a public stage. This won't merely strengthen our communion with those who resonate with the project, but also serve as a portal to satiate your insatiable curiosity about the intricacies of OldSunset. And don't fret, my enthusiastic friend, these updates won't be fleeting, but an invitation to explore a constellation of mods and content beyond the horizon of OldSunset, birthed from the last two months of pure inspiration.
Today is one of those days that shines a bit more brightly, as I've marked the official debut (and you can download it here!) of my latest mod: the Fake Isometric Camera mod, showcased with grandeur on my YouTube channel. But that's not all – I took a brief pause to work some magic, recoloring some stunning rocks I stumbled upon in the digital troves of the incredible and talented Simaddix, an artist who wields mastery over assets for The Sims 3 Create a World tool! And what did I do next? I shot off a message, asking if we can use her modified assets in our project. I'm eagerly awaiting the response, as the green light to use these rocks in OldSunset could be the key to expanding horizons, infusing a universe of novelty into the current rock scarcity in Ts3.
But wait, the adventure doesn't end there! I'm also fine-tuning the essential cogs of the movement mechanics in OldSunset. Yes, life in this world extends beyond the Sims, my friend. It's an orchestra of strategically positioned community lots that whisper irresistible invitations to the Sims throughout the day. At the heart of these changes, a freshly added square, transforming the landscape into more than just a decorative lake. What do you think? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this lake remains swimmable (as in the current version), ushering in a burst of activities that will further enliven this region.
So there you have it, my friend. These are just a few of the exciting updates I wanted to share with you. Your words, your voice, they're the compass that guides our journey. A special thank you, a nod of reverence, to those who have been by my side since the first breaths of this project or since its fledgling days. You've propelled me beyond the stars with your opinions, insights, and warm support. A universe of gratitude to all of you, true dream weavers. I know today's post might seem like a wild fantasy. I asked ChatGPT to make everything even more engaging, and suddenly I feel like I'm in an RPG. I enjoyed the tone and decided to roll with it, haha!
