NEW SIMS 3 UI MOD - INFORMATION AND SURPRISE (Patreon)
Content
After a lot of hard work, condensed into approximately 19 days, here we are.
Well, you have been waiting all this time for a new interface for CAS. But from yesterday to today, I decided to do what is my trademark: deliver more than I receive. And that's why I have two surprises for you!! In addition to CAS, I have rebuilt Create a Pet and recolored each of the personality traits individually to match the new aesthetic!
Moreover, I have also brought a new menu for the family screen when you finish creating your Sims. (IMPORTANT to remember, if you use my mod that changes the CAS BACKGROUND, you MUST REPLACE IT with THIS one (will be linked on the download page) because I had previously made changes in that area without considering the interface present in it.)
My mod doesn't just alter the CAS interface. It changes all interfaces when you access CAS through mirrors, wardrobes, fashion consultations (from Ambitions), or simply by clicking on your Sim. All these are separate menus that needed to be edited manually. Our interface is compatible with store mode, although I strongly recommend that you do not use it because it’s just more unnecessary information occupying space in the UI.
Based on community feedback (here and Youtube Livestream), I decided to release this mod with some changes. The interface will no longer contain numbers (instead of icons) nor will it use bars instead plumbos in the sliders how you can see in First menu where you define the informations about your Sim:
I want to clarify (because I know some were excited about this). There are areas of the game, especially in Create a Pet, where bars do not fit well. Additionally, for the sake of finishing touches, I needed to edit several files again, and supporting two versions would mean double the work. Since most of the community voted and chose icons and plumbob sliders over the opposite, I found it wiser to revise my stance. (If you were waiting for bars, I apologize)
THERE IS still a version with bars, but it is flawed. What I mean is, it works, but it's not perfect. Mirror and wardrobe menus categorize orders differently, and having numbers instead of icons there would just make it confusing. Mixing icons and numbers would make it look odd. I hope you understand my decision. And if you have any comments about it, please feel free to share. I will be happy to hear more.
Despite these remarks, there is nothing that should worry or discourage you because the work is still amazing and the details are fascinating. Below you can see more of what I'm talking about:
Second menu where you define hairstyles, eyebrows and body hair:
(I still want to create replacements for these eyebrow images, but finding the files in order has been a huge challenge)
Third menu where you define the facial shape and other visual details of your Sim:
And of course the Tattoo menu:
Fourth Menu, where you set your Sims' outfits and clothing:
Fifth menu, where we define the Sim's personality and other characteristics:
Others menus:
Well, technically you have seen all this throughout the process and must be curious to find out about the extra bonus I am sending along as a download today. I invested several hours from yesterday to today to ensure you have as much content as possible, and this is the current result of Create a Pet!! (The same interface applies to cats and dogs, varying the icons)
(important to remember, there is still a blue background below, but I am actively hunting down this little rascal because I definitely want to eliminate it. However, since it is a small and unique detail, it is very likely that in my next UI mods, this will be revised as I edit other files).
Here are the other categories:
As you read this, I'm probably live, doing one last check to make sure all the features mentioned are aligned with the highest quality standards for delivery, which is what each of you deserves. I'm open to criticism and suggestions, and I thank everyone for their enthusiasm, enthusiasm, and support. It wouldn't have been possible without you.
That said, today by the end of the day, the download will be available. I will add a note on the download page about the CAS BACKGROUND to make everything clearer and ensure no one is confused about what to download. I could alter the original file, but I understand that not EVERYONE may want to play with our interface, and having it break their experience with another UI wouldn't be nice. Therefore, I will add an extra link.
Speaking of "another UI," it is important to remember that our CAS UI will probably NOT be compatible with other UIs, especially because, in addition to all the features we changed, the sliders and Create a Style were also modified. You CAN merge my mod with your favorite UI mod, OR keep an eye on my next endeavor, because despite the work involved in doing this, I am strongly considering bringing the new interface to EVERY corner of The Sims 3!
Once again, thank you for your support and I hope you enjoyed the surprise. I hope the additions I brought make up for the decision to go back on the bars and numbers. As much as some people ask for variations of a mod, in the case of the interface, doing so is almost a headache since it requires additional checking of MANY files to make sure everything is aligned with the final goal.
I also didn't want this variety to cause confusion, driving away potential players who are looking for simpler and more direct ways to modify their games. See you later!
