CAS REVAMP - BY Boring Bones cooming tomorrow!! (Patreon)

Last Wednesday, I did a live stream showing people how to create beautiful Sims in TS3, but against my will, I had to use my filters because the Create a Sim interface seemed too dark!
On the 29th, I asked myself: "Can we change this?" And the obvious answer was: "Of course! There are files in the game to customize and control how the lighting in CAS behaves." Said and done. We spent hours on live stream editing, altering, and creating a new background to harmonize with the new lighting. I was one hundred percent satisfied!
I think on the same day, I saw a topic by Kwimii999 reporting his latest discovery that there was an automatic way to update all the TS3 thumbnails so that the game would generate them with your custom skin and eyes. Well, I use my own custom skintone taken from the game files from the beta version and rebuilt in high quality, but the visual result in the thumbnails was not exactly what I expected. That’s when I had the idea to manually edit each of the 2,160 thumbnails in the game. Well, yes, I didn't focus on that number because I would never have started if I had let that number scare me xD I started by playing and testing the facial thumbnail to see if I could incorporate a bust version in TS3, as it was in the beta version (and I particularly loved it).
The result, as many of you know, WORKED! So I took it upon myself to update all the facial part thumbnails for ALL ages, adjusting them to match my new CAS lighting mod. During this time, I shared my journey with people through live streams on YouTube, Tumblr, and posts on Twitter.
Over the weekend, I spent some time in silence on these social networks but worked more than 10 hours a day off-screen to incorporate the changes. Well, I'm not going to lie, it was tiring, exhausting, and I had to create mechanisms and ways to optimize my work because I had a deadline, and the date was June 6th.
June 6th was the day I played TS3 for the first time in 2009 (with 13 years old) I remember that day to this day, I remember how I cried when I created my first completely obese Sim because it was a feature that immediately caught my attention, as the body types in TS2 were extremely limited. I played TS3 in TS2 with some clothes with morphs, but it wasn’t the same. So I created a Sim similar to the chef from the renders and promotional images. She was chubby, had short hair, and that's where it all started with The Sims 3. I knew I wanted this mod ready by the 6th to celebrate this journey with the game. (Do you remember this image?)
And, there are two qualities I can brag about: I am patient and dedicated. Opening TS3 countless times to make sure my ideas work has never been an obstacle or problem. As I said before, this is how I cover my lack of skill and talent for script mods xD And it's all great. Now we have significant visual changes for CAS, the interface reflects this update, and God knows what the next step will be. There is a huge desire within me to redo all the CAS thumbnails, but I want to give myself a break because 2,160 images in 7 days is a bit tiring xD That’s approximately 308 images per day. Anyway, I would like to share that your enthusiasm and love for this idea was essential for me not to get discouraged and shut down my brain when it started thinking about the difficulties in completing this project.
So thank you very much for publicly showing your support, for commenting, for encouraging me, for seeing this project as something simple yet revolutionary. I know that at the end of the day it’s just a change of thumbnails, in practice it’s not "WOW, fantastic". But it makes the game feel more modern and up-to-date for today, so every little effort is worth it.
Throughout this text, you have discovered how each interface looks at this moment, and throughout this process, you have been able to follow the before and after. I am writing all this to inform you that tomorrow, June 6th, the mod will be available, but remember, the installation is not like traditional mods.
Well, this isn’t even a mod! xD You will have to replace a file in the game directory, so if you think you might want to revert it in the future, make a backup of the CASTHUMBNAILS.PACKAGE file located in the Thumbnails folder in the game directory (the last folder almost no one sees or remembers exists) and get ready to download this revision tomorrow!! <3
I see you tomorrow!! <3 To check a little more about this mod watch this video. Its time to change!
