Anyways, more lore! Hybrid types are kids from amalian parents of two different types. They have genes expressing both types and they're super duper rare. Usually the kid is one of either type or not amalian at all. I got the idea of hybrid types the same as in real life like how a donkey and horse make a mule and how hybrid animals can't reproduce. HOWEVER there has been records of mules having a baby! 

So of course Charlotte and Ernest will have a kid someday, they just have to work super hard XD

Charlotte has a masters in botany so she finds the genetics of all this really interesting and when she finds out that Ernest is a hybrid she geeks out HARD. I can't wait to draw that part in the main comic.
